American actor F. Murray Abraham was born on October 24, 1939.
He was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on October 24, 1939. Due to the Mount Lebanon famine, his father and his family left Muqlus, an Ottoman Syrian tiny town in the Valley of the Christians, when he was five years old.
In honour of his father Fahrid, Abraham added the letter “F.” to his stage name. He has said as much “Murray Abraham simply seems to be silent. Simply because it goes by another name, I decided to frame it.”
