Fred James Crosby, II, of Saginaw, Michigan, passed away on Thursday, April 13, 2023, at the age of 57. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, cousin, and dear friend.
Fred was born on November 8, 1965, in Saginaw, Michigan, to Fred James and Joyce Marie (Schultz) Crosby.
He attended Hemlock High School, where he played football and wrestling. After graduating in 1984, he enrolled in the automotive school at Ferris State University.
Personal Life and Career
On April 29, 1989, Fred married Renee Marie, and they had two children, Brandon Joseph Crosby and Justin Lee Crosby, and two grandkids, Jackson and Graham Crosby.
Fred was a loyal husband, father, and grandfather, and his family was his life’s work. He worked at Hemlock Semiconductor for 34 years, from January 2, 1986, to January 15, 2019.
Fred gave back to his community by coaching his sons in the little league, becoming vice president and umpire-in-chief for the North Saginaw Township Little League (NSTLL), and finally becoming the league’s past president.
Personal Interests and Achievements
Fred loved being outside and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and riding snowmobiles. He attended Bethlehem Lutheran Church & School for a long time and served on the school board there.
He later attended Hopevale Church. Fred will always be remembered for how hard he worked, how great of a husband he was, and how he was the best father and grandfather in the whole world.
He will also be remembered for how fun and exciting he was and how he lived an amazing life full of beautiful memories and stories.
Fred’s Passing and Funeral
Fred passed away peacefully at his home with his family by his side. The announcement of his death was shared on social media by his son, Brandon. A Celebration of Fred’s life will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, April 17, 2023, at the W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Road. Rafael Olgine will officiate.
Honoring Fred’s wishes, cremation will follow the service. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral home on Monday from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the North Saginaw Township Little League (NSTLL) in honor of Fred Crosby.
