On November 11, 2022, James R. “Jake” Blaauboer, 26, of Clifton Park, passed away unexpectedly.
Jake was a Shenendehowa High School alum. At the time of his passing, he was a student at the University of Notre Dame and Hudson Valley Community College. He had served in the US Army and had previously worked as a welder.
Jake was a competitive athlete who regularly ran for the school’s cross country and track teams. He pushed himself by ascents of Pikes Peak in Colorado, Mount Washington in New Hampshire, and several Adirondack high peaks. He was an insightful debater who enjoyed talking about philosophical and political topics. He loved listening to all kinds of music and reading.
Jim and Mary Blaauboer, Jake’s parents, and Jake’s devoted sister Molly all reside in Clifton Park. His relatives, aunts, and other members of his extended family are still alive. Both his paternal grandparents, Henry and Vinci Blaauboer, and his maternal grandparents, Richard and Joan Clemens, predeceased him.
