John Heard was a noted American actor, who regaled his audience over a period of almost four decades, appearing in 105 films and 67 television series during this period.
Raised in theatrical environment, he began to appear on stage while doing his Masters degree in theater at the Catholic University of America. He abandoned his education in early 1970s to establish his professional acting career.
After spending few years at Off Broadway, he finally debuted on television at the age of 29 and in films at 31. By the time he was in his mid-thirties, he was able to establish himself as a major American actor.
He starred in numerous films, excelling himself in productions like ‘Cutter’s Way’, ‘C.H.U.D’, ‘The Trip to Bountiful’, ‘Big’, ‘Home Alone’, etc. However from 1990s, he began to appear in side roles as well, continuing to work continuously till his death in 2017.
