English professional footballer Philip Walter Foden (born May 28, 2000) competes for Manchester City in the Premier League and the England squad as a midfielder. He is regarded as one of the world’s top young players.

After England’s victorious Under-17 World Cup campaign, Foden made his professional football debut in 2017 when he won the FIFA U-17 World Cup Golden Ball award. The next year, he made his City debut, and in December, he has voted BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year.

Foden has subsequently made over 100 appearances for the club, winning nine awards, including the Premier League winners’ medal at the age of 21. In 2019, he won his second Premier League title and became the club’s youngest-ever goalscorer in the UEFA Champions League, as well as the youngest English player to start a match and score in the competition’s knockout stages. He was selected Premier League Young Player of the Season and PFA Young Player of the Year in 2021. Foden has played for England at several minor levels, scoring 19 goals in 51 youth appearances. He was called up to the senior team for the first time on August 25, 2020, and made his debut against Iceland in a 1-0 victory in the UEFA Nations League on September 5, 2020.
