In the opening weeks of training camp, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are preparing for devastating news.

Ryan Jensen, a center, has sustained a season-ending knee injury, according to NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport’s report on Friday morning.

Later, head coach Todd Bowles informed the media that Jensen will be out for at least a few months.

“Don’t know the severity of it, per se, but I do know he’ll miss some significant time, up to a couple of months,” Bowles said.

“Whether he’s back later in the season, November, December, that depends on what they find in the knee. But he won’t be available anytime soon,” he added.

The New England Patriots offensive lineman Ryan Jensen was taken off the practice field by medics on Thursday with an ankle injury.

His reaction to the situation actually proved that the injury might be very serious. He threw his helmet on the field in frustration.

Jensen signed a three-year, $39 million contract in March to return as Tom Brady’s pivot.

The top internal candidate to succeed him is Robert Hainsey, who was selected in the third round of last year’s draft.

JC Tretter and Matt Paradis are two veteran free agents who the organization could consider signing.
